PAEW conducts training for preparation of governing body

Public Authority for Electricity and Water conducted a training program on preparing for the board of governance, in the presence of HE Mohammed Al Mahrouqi, Chairman and various top management of the Authority. 
The workshop adopted a model successful program management in monitoring the implementation of strategies, of which there are twelve strategy with the development of new strategies and distributed to the five committees. Five different committees were namely, customer service committee, communication committee, support services committee, best practices committee and operational efficiency committee. Each committee constituted of a chairman, vice chairman, director of the program, change managers and advisers.
PAEW aims to adopt this model, and the formation of boards of governance highlights in promoting a smooth transition to follow up for the implementation of the strategies after the end of the joint management contract and internal capacity building. Committee’s aims to strengthen the mechanisms of strategic decision-making and achieve the bulk of change in the activities of the Authority following the implementation of the projects listed in these strategies.
The program addressed the development of seeing each strategy and objectives that the Authority hopes to achieve upon completion of the implementation. The program focused on the importance of stakeholder engagement and identifying ways to communicate with each committee and the messages that will be escalated. These strategies will enable PAEW to achieve its long term strategic vision of providing potable water supply through the construction and distribution of high quality and effectiveness of water transmission networks to cover 98% of the population of the Sultanate by 2040.
